Slayden constructed the Minto Adult Fish Collection Facility on the North Santiam River for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The project modernized an aging fish collection facility used to safely collect, sort, and transport ESA-listed spring Chinook salmon and winter steelhead around Big Cliff and Detroit dams to support long-term fish recovery efforts.

Construction included a new reinforced concrete fish ladder, pre-sort pool, sorting facility, post-sort holding ponds, intake and pump structure, fish handling and transport systems, generator building, maintenance facilities, and related site improvements. The facility included a 440-footfish ladder with 52 pools, a reinforced concrete sort building, eight post-sort holding ponds, and a new intake and pump structure with five pumps for facility water supply.

The work required major excavation and concrete construction below river level between State Highway 22 and the North Santiam River. Slayden installed an extensive cofferdam system and diversion channel to isolate the right riverbank, create a dry work area, and protect river habitat while completing the new facility and related barrier dam repairs.
