Slayden has developed a specialty in multiple-trade civil construction, which is of special benefit to park and recreation projects. Environmentally sensitive construction requires us to mitigate environmental impacts, but allow the work to flow in an economically sensible fashion. We are at home with issues involving encroachment, handling of hazardous material, drainage considerations, debris containment, and public perception.
We are experienced in shoreline improvement, flood restoration, excavation, utilities, sheetpile walls, detailed riprap and stone placement, riverbank bioengineering construction, architectural concrete retaining walls, seawalls and flatwork, granite and concrete unit pavers, stone veneer, pipe piling, pier construction, water features, and extensive landscaping and native plantings, walking trails, picnic areas, and open spaces.
We’ve successfully completed many highly visible projects, such as South Waterfront Park in Portland Oregon, North Park Blocks in Portland’s Pearl district, and the Eastbank Esplanade, on Portland’s waterfront. In addition, our portfolio includes multistory recreation facilities such as the Tualatin Hills Recreation Center and the Dixon Recreation Center at Oregon State University.
